Following some experience breeding Alaskan Malamutes, Mathers' current business began four years ago when she started breeding standard poodles and she built a corresponding website two years afterwards. Soon, she started adding pet products to the site to create a true-to-heart one stop shop.

"These GPS devices allow dogs to be tracked anywhere in the country," explained Mathers. "We never want our dogs to get lost, but they're extremely helpful in those cases."

Aside from her own writing, Mathers wants to get other dog lovers to contribute. "There are topics like dealing with the loss of a pet, health and nutrition issues and safety concerns that several different people have experience with and it's good to get as various points of view."
With all the new products and projects that are on her plate, Karen Mathers still gets excited about a major event for her puppies. "I host a puppy reunion for all the dogs we sell," said Mathers. "It gives them a chance to interact with their mother and each other. It's a very special event."
